Roger Kimball

Roger Kimball studied both jazz and classical music at the University of Miami, Florida, and classical music at Boston University. While majoring in music composition/studio music and jazz at U. Miami, he studied bass with Lucas Drew and cello with Ingus Naruns, both of the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra. At Boston University he majored in music composition while studying cello with the late Mischa Nieland of the Boston Symphony.

For the past 35+ years, Roger has been performing on cello and bass throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Middle East with numerous ensembles and orchestras. These range from Classical symphony to Frankie Avalon and pop legend Carly Simon, and just about everything in between. He has appeared in many venues in the U.S., including Boston's Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Scullers, the Berklee Performance Center, and The Regattabar. Roger has worked as both a bassist and cellist in recording studios in Miami, Nashville, New York, Providence, and Boston. Along with freelancing, he regularly performs with the educational enrichment program "Adventures With Jazz", the Classical chamber ensemble "The Woodvale String Quartet", and the R&B pop band "Boss", which rocks the house for corporate parties, wedding receptions, and nightclub venues.
